By Kevin Northup Feb 14, 2023 | 6:24 AM

You’re likely beginning your Valentine’s Day with a snow shovel instead of a box of chocolates or flowers.

The latest snowfall dropped around 25 centimetres in some spots, and made our afternoon commute a mess yesterday, with RCMP advising people to avoid going out if possible.

Snowfall warnings have ended for Halifax and the South Shore, but it remains in effect for some areas of Cape Breton.

According to the Department of Public Works this morning, upwards of 45 centimetres of snow fell in Richmond County.
