Home Takeover Busted Up; 5 Arrested

Thunder Bay Police have broken up another home takeover in Thunder Bay, this time on the city’s north side.

Officers were called to a Blucher Avenue home shortly before 11:30 a.m. Thursday, as a part of a welfare check on a suspected victim of a home takeover.

Upon entry to the home officers observed several signs of ongoing drug trafficking activity and arrested five suspects without incident.

A quantity of suspected crack cocaine, cash, drug trafficking equipment and firearm ammunition was seized by police.

The street value of the seized drugs is estimated at around $10,000.

The suspects, all from Thunder Bay, each face a variety of drug trafficking charges.

Two 29 year old males each face the following charges:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Meanwhile, a 27 year old male faces the following charges:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2

Additionally, a 29 year old male and a 34 year old female have each been charged with:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

All four men have appeared in court been remanded into custody, while the woman has been released on conditions and will have a future appearance date.
