Grand Opening for Primary Care Clinics Across the Province

“A momentous day”

That’s what the CEO of the Pharmacy Association of NS is calling the grand opening of 11 community pharmacy primary care clinics across the province yesterday.

The twelfth location in Bedford is set to open later this month.

The locations now offer same-day, next-day appointments for several services including assessing and prescribing for 31 minor ailments.

Including testing and prescribing for strep-throat, chronic disease drug therapy management, contraception and UTI’s.

The program, a collaboration between PANS, the Government of Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Health was announced by Michelle Thompson, Minister of Health & Wellness on January 31.

The clinics started February 1 and It’s been so successful, phase 2 is already being planned with twelve more locations opening in May.

•Shoppers Drug Mart, 912 East River Rd., New Glasgow
•The Medicine Shoppe, 664 Prince St., Truro
•Wilsons Pharmasave, 213 Commercial St., Berwick
•Bridgewater Guardian Pharmacy, 42 Glen Allan Dr., Bridgewater
•Shoppers Drug Mart, 1124 Bridge St., Greenwood
•TLC Pharmasave, 157 Water St., Shelburne
•City Drug Store, 369 Main St., Yarmouth

Brookline Pharmacy at 105-6 Bloom Lane, Bedford, will have appointments starting later in February.
