Update 3:55 p.m.: Police have reopend the stretch of Highway 1, that had to be closed while emergency responders attended the scene.
No further details on the cause of the accident were released.
A tractor trailer has overturned on Highway 1 in Beaver River.
It happened around 11:45 this morning.
Fire departments, the RCMP and the Department of Public Works are on scene, the road is closed in the 3900 block.
Police say the tractor trailer was travelling on the highway when it overturned, it was transporting barbecues.
They ask the public to avoid the area until the tractor trailer can be recovered.
Due to a collision near civic 3900, Hwy. 1 in #BeaverRiver #DigbyCounty is currently closed. Hwy. 1 expected to be closed for extended period while efforts are made to remove tractor trailer from the area.
