Drug & Weapons Charges For City Man

A man wanted on outstanding warrants has been arrested by Thunder Bay Police and in the process picked up several drug and weapons charges.

Officers with the Break and Enter and Robbery or “BEAR” Unit were in the area of Victoria Avenue East shortly before noon Monday when they observed the 38 year old male.

Other officers were called in for backup, and the accused was approached in near Leith and May Streets, where they completed the arrest without incident.

He was later found to be in possession of a quantity of suspected fentanyl and a replica firearm, he has since been charged with:

• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
• Carrying a Concealed Weapon
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He appeared in court Tuesday and was remanded into custody.
