Water Issues Close Uptown Restaurant

By Brad Perry Feb 7, 2023 | 10:47 AM

The impacts of this weekend’s extreme temperatures continue to be felt by some businesses.

An uptown Saint John restaurant has been forced to close its doors until further notice.

Gahan House Port City said it is dealing with water issues caused by the drop in temperatures.

A video posted to social media on Monday night showed water pouring out of the restaurant onto Water Street.

“Everyone is safe and we want to send a huge thank you to everyone who is helping us get this fixed up,” the restaurant said in a post on Facebook.

Our newsroom reached out to staff at the restaurant for comment.

Gahan House said it hopes to reopen to the public as soon as possible.
