A section of Highway 3 near Chester is currently closed as firefighters respond to a house fire.

It’s currently closed between Goat Lake Road and Graves Island Park, and representatives from the Chester Fire Department indicated it will reopen around dinnertime.

Reports indicate that the Chester Fire Department received a call reporting a house fire around 11:00 a.m., they arrived shortly after and began containing the house fire.

Multiple other fire departments have since been called in to assist including Chester Basin FD, Hubbards FD, Blandford FD, Western Shore FD, Martins River FD, Southwest Hants FD, Windsor FD and Mahone Bay FD.
