Local Sports For Tuesday, February 7th

Three more top three finishes for the Kenora Nordic Trails Biathlon Club.

Racers were in Falcon Lake over the weekend.

Tucker Blyth placed second in the Junior Boys 13-14 category.

Susan Alexiuk placed first in the Developmental Women category;

Tim Wehner placed first in the Masters Men category.

The next biathlon race is scheduled for February 25th in Falcon Lake.

 

Four athletes from the Lake of the Woods Wrestling Club will be heading to the Ontario Winter Games this week in Pembroke, Ontario.

Coach Leah Green will be bringing Marlee Boucha, Dylan Perchuck, Julien Rhind and James Shouldice to the events, who will all be representing Team Northwestern Ontario.

The team competition will be held on Friday, and the individual matches will take place on Saturday.

 

A full slate of High School games today in girls volleyball, boys basketball and boys and girls hockey.

Sioux North is hosting Beaver Brae, Fort Frances is taking on Dryden and Northern Lakes in Atikokan is facing Rainy River in court sport action.

 

On the Rink, St. Thomas Aquinas is facing off against Dryden in boys and girls hockey this evening.

 

Last night, a sweep for the Fort Frances Muskies hockey teams in Sioux Lookout.

The boys team edged the Sioux North Warriors 6-5.

The girls won 6-2.
