It’s a good time to start planning activities indoors.
Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for the province, warning of an arctic airmass that will combine with strong northwest winds to give bitterly cold conditions.
With the wind, it could feel as cold as minus 35 to minus 45 between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
“Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill,” said the weather agency.
Winds are expected to subside on Saturday, although temperatures will remain well below freezing.
