A man was fraudulently trying to collect money in Halifax today.

Police say he was going door-to-door saying he was from the Fairview United Church, asking for money on the church’s behalf.

The suspect is described as a white man around 5’8”, wearing a black winter hat with a yellow logo, a teal puffy winter jacket and jeans.

Police say it is a scam and anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
