Busy Week on Area Roadways

OPP officers in the Rainy River District were kept busy last week.

Statistics for the week ending Sunday show a total of 168 calls for service.

The issuance of eTickets for motor vehicle infractions accounted for fifteen percent of those occurrences.

There were also ten motor vehicle accidents and another five traffic complaints.

OPP were called upon to deal with seven cases of domestic dispute, five reports of shoplifting, four thefts, and three landlord/tenant disputes.

Police laid 31 charges under the Criminal Code and 15 under the Highway Traffic Act.
