YQM Recovery Better Than Expected

By Allan Dearing Jan 30, 2023 | 5:08 AM

Passengers returned in larger numbers than expected at the Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport (YQM) in 2022.

YQM president and CEO Courtney Burns said passenger growth has been accelerating since last summer.

“We’re closing up the books for 2022 but we can share that we’re about 70 percent recovered compared to pre-COVID in terms of passenger levels,” noted Burns.

“We’re expecting to hit about 90 percent, if not even better for 2023. That is even surpassing our forecasts that we would have had about a year ago.”

Burns added the airport didn’t anticipate this kind of recovery until the end of this year and even 2024.
