There will be a new men’s curling champion from Northern Ontario.

Brad Jacobs lost both of his games yesterday and has been eliminated from the playdowns at the Kenora Rec. Center.

First he lost to Sandy MacEwan from Sudbury in the morning draw then he fell to Tanner Horgan, also from Sudbury in the afternoon 6-4.

In the evening draw MacEwan topped Trevor Bonot from Thunder Bay 9-6.

With the win MacEwan now advances to the final at 6:00 tonight.

He’ll play the winner of the game between Bonot and Horgan in this morning’s semifinal.

On the women’s side, Krista McCarville will be in the final after beating Jackie McCormick from Stratton in the 1-2 game in the page playoff 7-4 last night.

McCormick will now play Krysta Burns from Sudbury this morning after she defeated Bella Croisier, also from Sudbury, in the other page playoff game last night.
