By Tim Davidson Jan 28, 2023 | 9:36 AM

Stratton’s Trevor Bonot has advanced to the A side of the draw in the men’s page playoffs at the Northern Ontario Curling playdowns taking place in Kenora.

Bonot, and his team from the Fort William Curling Club,  defeated defending champ Brad Jacobs Friday afternoon 7-1 to claim top spot.

Jacobs will be on the ice this morning against Sandy MacEwan from Sudbury.

On the woman’s side of the draw, Krista McCarville suffered her first loss of the playdowns losing 10-9 to Bella Croisier from Sudbury in the afternoon draw.

McCarville came back in the night draw with a  9-2 win over Krysta Burns from Sudbury.

McCarville falls to 5-1 and has wrapped up round robin play while Jackie McCormick from Stratton and the Croisier rink are just behind at 4-1.

They will play this morning at 9:30 to conclude the women’s round robin.

Both of the Kenora teams were eliminated in the Friday morning draw as the Josh Szajewski rink from the Keewatin Curling Club and the Ryan Meadows team from the Kenora Curling Club lost their third games in the triple knock out event.
