New Brunswick drivers will be paying considerably more at the fuel pumps on Friday.

The Energy and Utilities Board hiked gasoline and diesel prices on Thursday night.

Gasoline went up 4.9 cents, with regular self-serve now selling for a maximum of $1.69 per litre.

Diesel prices jumped 15.6 cents to a new maximum price of $2.31 per litre.

Most local stations are selling both fuels for a few cents less.

Meanwhile, the most you will now pay for heating oil is $2.10 per litre, an increase of 14.6 cents.

The maximum price of propane also went up 2.5 cents to $1.14 per litre.

Fuel prices are reset every Thursday night in New Brunswick.
