Province Announces Mental Health Supports For Youth

By Tim Davidson Jan 26, 2023 | 9:28 AM

The provincial government is providing $4.75 million dollars for mental health supports for youth.

Health Minister Sylvia Jones says the money will be expanding the One Stop Talk “walk-in” counselling program.

“This convenient service will help youth connect to care in both English and French, through telephone, video-conferences, text, and chat options without an appointment,” Jones announced.

“One Stop Talk was launched with just six organizations just last November and it has already served nearly 1,000 patients.  That is tremendous reach for only three month of operation.”

Jones adds the government will also be expanding the number of youth hubs across the province to 22.

There are currently 14, including the one in Kenora.
