UPDATE: Water Levels Going Down In Quinan

By Kevin Northup Jan 19, 2023 | 6:06 AM

It looks like water levels are receding in Quinan.

They are down about three inches as of this morning, according to the Yarmouth Regional Emergency Management Office.

They put out a notice last night to warn residents of high, fast water and flooding in the area.

Coordinator Shane Strong says they’ve been monitoring the situation closely.

“We believe the water has crested. Every few hours we’re going out and looking. We believe we’re past the worst of it, but we’re going to keep monitoring the situation,” says Strong.

He says water levels have been rising because of the heavy rain we had earlier this week.

“We wanted to make sure the public was aware of the water, and to not get themselves in a situation where they could get trapped by the rising water.”

No roads were closed.
