A spike in student enrolment in Anglophone East School District will mean changes for the upcoming school year.

The Anglophone East District Education Council will receive an update from Superintendent Randy MacLEAN next month about school boundary changes.

At a recent DEC meeting, MacLEAN told members that the final processes are underway now and the proposed boundaries will be presented to the council in February.

He also told members student enrolment continues to climb.

The District currently has over 18, 260 students and MacLEAN says they are seeing an additional 50 to 70 more a month.

School boundary changes will help alleviate overcrowding.

Work to change boundaries began months ago to ensure parents and students know in advance how this will affect them for the 2023/2024 school year.
