The South Shore Regional Centre for Education implemented its bus back road closure policy on Monday, January 16 in response to road conditions.

After the South Shore was hit with rain for most of the weekend many of the backroads of the region are in poor condition and as such are not suitable for school busses.

The SSRCE is enforcing the restrictions on all busses in the region, with over 125 bus routes being impacted.

Parents with students on routes set to be impacted should have received information at the start of the school year on where the alternate drop-off locations or the information can be accessed online.

A decision on whether the policy will be lifted on Tuesday has yet to be made.
