Two people were found dead after an early morning fire in the town of Woodstock.

Emergency crews were called to a fire at 732 Main Street around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

“While combing through the structure after the fire, the bodies of two persons were discovered,” police Chief Gary Forward said in a news release.

Officials did not provide any more details about the two victims.

The source and the cause of the fire have yet to be determined, said Forward.

“Officers will remain in the area throughout the next several days, conducting neighbourhood canvass for video and witnesses,” he said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Woodstock Police Force at 506-325-4601 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
