Police have charged a man in relation to a break and enter in Halifax.

Just before 2am officers responded to a break and enter in progress at a parking garage at the 6400 block of Pepperell st.

A man had broken into the garage and taken property from a number of the vehicles.

Officers arrested him and seized a knife the man had concealed.

Once in custody he provided a false name and has an outstanding arrest for failing to appear in court.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in court today.
