What do you think about NB Power’s proposal to hike power rates by 8.9 per cent?

The Energy and Utilities Board is looking for public input as part of the application process.

Public forums are taking place in Caraquet on Jan. 23 and in Grand Falls on Jan. 24.

A virtual online forum through Zoom has also been scheduled for Jan. 30.

Those looking to make a presentation to the board must register by Jan. 18. You can do so by emailing general@nbeub.ca or calling 1-866-766-2782.

Written comments can also be made but must be submitted to the board before Jan. 30 by emailing general@nbeub.ca.

NB Power has asked that the rate hike take effect on April 1. A nine-day public hearing is scheduled to begin on Feb. 13.
