Police have charged a man after an assault that allegedly involved a tire iron yesterday in Dartmouth.

At around 430pm, police responded to a report of an assault at 84 Main street.

A driver cut off another vehicle, in the parking lot, then assaulted the other driver, and his vehicle with what was believed to be a tire iron.

The man then fled the scene in his vehicle, and the victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.
