Colton Cook murder jury trial begins

By Jakob Postlewaite Jan 10, 2023 | 5:53 PM

Yarmouth Courthouse.

Today was the first day of the jury trial for the murder of Colton Cook.

Robert Rogers was the only one to appear after the co-accused, Wayne Crawford, pled guilty to second degree murder last week.

Rogers is also charged with second degree murder, along with interference with human remains.

Colton Cook’s mother, Stacey, shared her feelings after numerous delays continued to push the trial back.

“It’s a good feeling to start getting things moving so that we can maybe start towards justice,” says Cook. “On that note I’m happy, on that note on what I have to hear, not so happy.”

Five witnesses took the stand including Stacey Cook, who discussed it after the day’s proceedings.

“When you’re fighting for your kids you can do absolutely anything,” says Cook. “It’s amazing what a parent can do when they have to do it for their children.”

While the trial is now underway, sentencing for the man who pled guilty to accessory after the fact to murder in the case, Keith Siscoe, continues to face delays.
