Police ask for Help Solving Murder from Ten Years Ago

Ten years later Halifax Regional Police are investigating the murder of Raymond Floyd Peters.

On January 7, 2013 police responded to a report of a shooting on Primrose st and Pinecrest Dr in Dartmouth.

There they located Peters in an apartment suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken to hospital and died the next day.

A suspect fled the area on foot and is described as a Black man in his 20’s, around 5’8”, medium build, wearing a blue hoodie and black pants.

The case is part of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program which offers cash rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for specified major unsolved crimes. Callers must contact the Rewards Program at 1-888-710-9090, must provide their name and contact information, and may be called to testify in court. All calls will be recorded. The amount of the award will be based on the investigative value of the information provided.

Police ask anyone with information to contact them.
