Many people stepped up this Christmas to ensure those in need had food on their table for the holidays.

But the General Manager of the Peter McKee Community Food Centre Christine Taylor says they need donations 12 months of the year, “It was great to see everyone step up with the food drives and the monetary donations and things like that, but we need that to happen year-round. The food we received will be depleted by the third week of January.”

Taylor says they are always in need of things like baby formula, baby food, cereal, and personal care items and she asks that you ensure the food is not expired.

She adds that if you find yourself in need, there is help at the Centre, “We really want everyone to know that no matter what difficulty you are going through, we are here to help. Please don’t be afraid to come.”

The Centre also includes an Optician and Garden centre.

“Everyone at some point in your life needs support. We are happy to be there to help,” Taylor says.
