The death of a 31-year-old man outside a bar in downtown Halifax has been ruled a homicide.

Ryan Micheal Sawyer was found on the ground on Brunswick Street just after 1 a.m. on Christmas Eve.

He was taken to hospital and later died.

Police responded to an altercation involving a group of people, but no other details have been released about what happened.

No arrests have been made.
