We’re learning more about a fatal collision in Digby this morning.
Police say a pickup truck and a panel van were travelling in opposite directions on Highway 217 in Roxville when they collided.
The driver of the van, a 57-year-old Bayview man, was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the truck, a 35-year-old Roxville man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance.
Digby RCMP, fire and EHS responded to the collision around 8:55 a.m.
Highway 217 is still closed and the RCMP say it will be for the next several hours.
A collision reconstructionist is at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
Police tell our newsroom the crash happened around Civic number 10845.
RCMP say drivers can take Marsh Road or Middle Crossing Road to get around the area of the collision.
