Looking for turkey and all the fixings on Sunday?

For the 26th straight year, free Christmas dinners will be offered in Yarmouth.

They’ll be made at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 61 from noon to 3 p.m on Christmas Day.

Organizer Brenda Hattie says eat-in, take-out and delivery options are available.

“Some of us are very fortunate, but there are many others who are not. For giving back to the community, my heart is always there,” says Hattie.

She says over 400 meals were served last Christmas, and with the price of food, she expects more will go out this year.

Hattie thanks Superstore, the RCMP, the 84th Independent Field Battery and all the volunteers for making it happen, and the community for their donations.

“We’ve had this dinner every single year for 26 years. We’ve had to shovel snow to get here before, but we’ve never missed a beat.”
