Two Men Arrested In Shooting Incident

A 32-year-old man and a 40-year-old man have been arrested after a shooting in Saint-Antoine last week.

Late Thursday afternoon, RCMP were called to a home on Gerard Street where a man had been reportedly shot in the stomach.

When officers arrived, a 40-year-old man was found suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police said he was taken to hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

A 32-year-old man from Saint-Antoine and a 40-year-old man from Bathurst were arrested at the home.

Both men were later released on conditions and are scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on June 9, 2023.

The RCMP police dog had been called to the scene.

Members of the Southeast District Crime Reduction Unit and the RCMP Forensic Identification Services are assisting in the ongoing investigation.
