The official opposition wants the staycation tax credit extended.
The rebate for vacationing in Ontario is to expire at the end of this year.
It was put in place to encourage travel within the province.
A report from the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario and the Ontario Chamber of Commerce also recommends the tax credit be extended until the tourism industry can fully recover from the pandemic.
The NDP’s Wayne Gates says extending the credit is a common-sense way the Ford government can help the sector recover.
