Four Displaced In Mini-Home Fire

By Allan Dearing Dec 14, 2022 | 5:22 PM

Three adults and one child have been displaced after a mini-home fire in Riverview late Wednesday morning.

Riverview Fire and Rescue responded to the blaze around 11:40 a.m. on Lotus Avenue in River Garden Estates where heavy smoke was found coming from one end of the home.

Chief Robin True said firefighters aggressively attacked the interior and the fire was heaviest underneath the home.

He noted two dogs were rescued by firefighters and they appeared to be unhurt.

Chief True said the mini-home sustained heavy smoke and water damage throughout.

About 24 firefighters responded with mutual aid coming from the Moncton and Salisbury fire departments.

RCMP and ANB paramedics were also on scene but no one was home at the time and no one was hurt.

The cause is under investigation.

The Canadian Red Cross says its volunteers are helping the four displaced residents with emergency food, lodging and clothing.
