L’Arche Exhibit Opens At Government House

A new exhibit at Government House brings together unique artwork from artists in Saint John and Fredericton.

“Togetherness” features art made by artists with intellectual disabilities from L’Arche communities in Saint John and Fredericton.

Lieutenant-Governor Brenda Murphy hosted an opening reception last Friday at Government House.

Staff members from L’Arche and some of the artists also attended.

Saint John artist Maggie Higgins. who curated the show, was also on hand.

The Saint John artwork comes from the artists of the Creative Connections program at L’Arche Saint John.

The day program sees professional artists and educators join volunteers and staff on an artistic journey with their members.

The program encourages artistic self-expression, builds confidence and fosters emotional well-being.

The artwork will remain on display at Government House until Jan. 26.
