Many of us are celebrating the holiday season with family gatherings and staff parties but Codiac RCMP are passing along a friendly reminder.

Interim Superintendent Ben Jolette wants everyone to avoid drinking and driving.

“If you do go out, it’s great to have fun. Enjoy a good time with your friends and family and coworkers… but have a plan. Please have a plan,” urges Jolette.

“If you have to ask yourself the question, ‘Have I had too much to drink tonight?’, you probably have. So it would be a great time to start thinking about what you should be doing with your vehicle and how to get home.”

He adds take advantage of the options available to you such as calling a taxi, phoning a friend or staying the night where you are.
