Eastbound traffic on Dawson Road has been closed from Hilldale Road to Piccadilly Avenue following a rollover of an eastbound tractor trailer unit that landed in the backyard of two city residences.
The incident occurred around 11 a.m. Sunday, no details have been released from Thunder Bay Police but witnesses say at least one vehicle in addition to the TTU was involved, and there are no reports of injuries.
Eastbound traffic is being rerouted through Hilldale Road or Fassina Street, and traffic control is in place.

In a post to social media a guest in one of the homes witness the crash happen in real time. “I’m sitting on my sister couch having a Sunday morning coffee and I watch a transport crash into the backyard just missing the house.” The post goes on to include those in the home and inside the truck were ok, but they were unsure of the vehicle hit on the road.

In a statement to Acadia News McIntyre Ward Councillor Albert Aiello says “Is there any more proper proof needed? Working with the mayor and other councillors to get this fast tracked as best we can.”
Thunder Bay Police are asking motorists to avoid the area as cleanup continues.
