A Mississauga man has been arrested after and investigation by Thunder Bay Police into a south side home takeover.

Members of the Intelligence Unit were at the Amelia Street West address Wednesday as part of an investigation into an ongoing home takeover, when officers arrived the observed a male suspect connected to the investigation.

The 19 year old attempted to flee but was taken into custody after a brief struggle.

During the arrest a quantity of crack cocaine and fentanyl was seized, along with an undisclosed amount of cash and drug trafficking equipment.

The accused faces the following charges:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
• Resist Peace Officer
• Unlawfully in a Dwelling

He appeared in bail court today and was remanded into custody.
