Four Arrested In North Side Drug Bust

Thunder Bay Police say four men, all from southern Ontario, arrested Tuesday at a north-side motel were in the city for the sole purpose of carrying out drug trafficking.

Officers with both the Emergency Task and Intelligence Units obtained and executed a search warrant at 11:30 a.m. at the motel as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking from the Powley Street address.

Officers also located and seized a significant quantity of cocaine and crystal methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $280,000.

Cash, drug trafficking equipment and a fake drivers licence was also seized.

A 28 year old Toronto man has been charged with:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking • Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 • Failure to Comply with Release Order

A 22 year old man, also from Toronto has been charged with:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking • Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

A 40 year old Whitby man has been charged with:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking • Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

and an 18 year old Maxwell man has been charged with:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking • Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 • Possession of an Identity Document

All four appeared in bail court Wednesday and all have been remanded into custody.
