Local Sports for Tuesday, December 6

The Tracy Laroque rink from Thunder Bay was shut out in their second game at the Everest Canadian Senior Women’s Curling Championship, losing 9-0 to Alberta.

The Northern Ontario foursome, featuring Lisa Penner from Fort Frances, are now 1 and 1 with games against Saskatchewan and B.C. scheduled for today.

On the men’s side, Thunder Bay’s Al Hackner’s rink lost to Ontario 8-6 and Nova Scotia 8-5 to sit 0-2 after their first day.

The team has games with rinks from Quebec this morning and Yukon in the afternoon.

 

The Fort Frances Muskies hockey teams hold their Teddy Bear tosses in support of the Salvation Army tonight.

Fans are encouraged to bring a new stuffed toy and hurl it to the ice upon the home team’s first goal.

The boys play Sioux North in the Ice For Kids Arena at 7:15 p.m.

The girls are in the 52 Canadians Rink at 6:30 p.m.
