UPDATE: Fire At Building In Hebron

By Kevin Northup Dec 5, 2022 | 11:00 AM

Highway 1 in Hebron has re-opened after a fire this morning.

An old accounting office caught fire after 8 o’clock.

Yarmouth Fire Department Chief Mike Deveau says they began attacking it from the outside.

“We extinguished the fire, did some overhaul, and we discovered the source of the fire. The fire is not suspicious at this time,” says Deveau.

The building is still standing, but there is heavy damage inside.

There were no injuries.

Deveau says it was a team effort.

“We deployed lines right away and made entry. When our equipment arrived on scene we were able to push forward. The fire had extended to the attic and the basement.”

Mutual aid from the Lakes and District, Lake Vaughan and Eel Brook fire departments were also on scene.
