Police Break Up Home Takeover; Seize Firearms and Fentanyl

Thunder Bay Police have once again broken up a home takeover on the city’s south side.

Officers were called to an apartment on Simpson Street at 9:30 a.m. following reports of a possible home takeover in progress. When they entered the residence they located and arrested three individuals connected to suspected drug trafficking activity.

One of the suspects provided police with a false name.

Officers also located and seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, cash, paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking, ammunition, along with two firearms – a rifle and a handgun. Estimated street value of the drugs is $53,000 and the seized cash totals more than $11,000.

A 29 year old Thunder Bay woman has been charged with:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking • Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x 2 • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x 2 • Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm • Careless Storage of a Firearm x 2 • Breach of Firearms Regulation – Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon x2 • Obstruct Peace Officer

An 18 year old Toronto man has been charged with:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking • Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x 2 • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x 2 • Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm • Careless Storage of a Firearm x 2 • Breach of Firearms Regulation – Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon x2

And a 19-year-old Markham man has been charged with:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking • Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x 2 • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x 2 • Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm • Careless Storage of a Firearm x 2 • Breach of Firearms Regulation – Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon x2

All three have been remanded into custody following a court appearance Saturday
