Lindsay Coyle will face sentencing on August 28, 2023.
She’s the former Fort Frances nurse who pled guilty to a charge of criminal negligence causing death, in the 2015 death of LaVerendrye General Hospital patient Hermina Fletcher.
Coyle entered a plea this August into the lesser charge, while a charge of second-degree murder was dropped.
The Court was told then that Coyle falsified Fletcher’s medical records to steal morphine.
This led to Fletcher receiving increased doses of the medication. She later died in hospital.
The lawyer representing Fletcher’s family is expressing his frustration with the sentencing date.
Doug Judson says it will be nine years since her death and four since charges were laid.
