OPP Traffic Stop Yields Significant Drug Bust

Ontario Provincial Police in Nipigon have arrested two Toronto area residents following a traffic stop on Highway 11-17.

During the stop officers located a large quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine and opioids, along with suspected cocaine. Several cell phones and items consistent with drug trafficking were also seized.

Police say the vehicle was westbound when it was pulled over.

A 45-year-old woman from Toronto faces the following charges:

·Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Heroin, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)

·Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (Other than Heroin), contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)

·Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)

Meanwhile a 42-year-old man from Whitby has been charged with:

·Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Heroin, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)

·Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (Other than Heroin), contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)

·Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)

·Adult Operation while Impaired- Alcohol and Drugs, contrary to Section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)

Both are scheduled to appear in Nipigon Court on February 14th 2023.
