The Rainy River District will finally see a new judge based at the Fort Frances Courthouse.
The Rainy River District Law Association says correspondence from Regional Senior Justice David Gibson indicates an addition to the region’s judicial allocation to be situated in Fort Frances.
The district has been without a sitting judge for ten years.
Local courts have since been presided over by visiting judges, mostly from Kenora.
There is no date yet when the position will be filled.
