Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is reporting increasing admissions across the board.

In an update provided on Monday, there were 30 patients who were admitted for testing positive for Covid-19, three of those individuals were admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.

The update also noted that the Emergency Department continues to see high volumes of patients. The release also served as a reminder to those thinking of using an ambulance to get faster treatment at the hospital won’t work. It was made clear, that in the Emergency Department all patients that come in get triaged and assessed for treatment based on their illness/injury severity.

Admissions at the hospital are up as well with the medical/surgical hospital occupancy at 106.6 per cent and ICU occupancy at 100 per cent.
