One person is dead following a two vehicle collision on Highway 17 Wednesday evening in Revell Township, west of Ignace.

First responders from the Ontario Provincial Police, Northwest EMS and Ignace Fire were on scene shortly before midnight and an occupant of one of the vehicles was pronounced deceased on scene.

The collision initially closed the highway from Shabaqua to Dryden, but was reduced to between Ignace and Dryden, before being fully reopened shortly before noon Thursday.

Technical Collision Investigators are still on scene processing evidence.
