There will be an inquest into the death of a miner at the Musselwhite gold mine.

The incident dates back to November 2015, when 49-year-old Jose Amaral died after there was an unexpected rockfall while driving a scoop underground.

Musselwhite gold mine is located 480 kilometres north of Thunder Bay, at Opapimiskan Lake.

The inquest is expected to last four days and will start on Dec. 6 via video conference.

Twenty witnesses are expected to testify during the hearing.
