IWK Children's Hospital in Halifax.
Mobile health clinics are popping up to help take pressure of hospital ER’s.
The pop up tents are meant to deal with non-emergencies for people without a family doctor and when walk-ins are closed.
They were set up in Halifax and Antigonish for students over the weekend .
They are staffed by nurse practitioners and other primary care providers.
It comes as some ER’s report they are bursting at the seems, causing stress for staff extremely long waits for people. The Halifax Infirmary and IWK reported serious overcrowding last week as we move into cold season.
