The bells are ringing again.

It is a sign that the Salvation Army’s Christmas Kettle campaign is running again.

The money collected helped with the agency’s Christmas support programs and other services provided during the rest of the year.

The kettles will be in place until December 23 at Safeway, Walmart and The Place in Fort Frances, Cloverleaf in Emo and Beaver Mills Market in Rainy River.

The Salvation Army’s Christmas Kettle campaign is now up and running.

Kettles will be in place until December 23 at Safeway, Walmart and The Place in Fort Frances, Cloverleaf Grocery in Emo and Beaver Mills Market in Rainy River.

Auxiliary Captain Arthur Heathcote says the donations collected are vital this year.

“We’ve seen an increase in need once again, so we want to make sure that everyone who applies gets a hamper. Anyone that has children, there are toys under the tree for Christmas,” says Heathcote.

In one of her last official duties as mayor, June Caul helped kick off this year’s Christmas Kettle campaign for the Salvation Army.

Caul encourages the public to show their support if they can.

“This is such an important campaign that Salvation Army does every year. It’s their biggest campaign of the year, and I’m happy to always be part of it, whether it’s ringing the bells or donating a little bit. I’m very proud to as the mayor to be able to be part of the kickoff campaign,” says Caul.

The Salvation Army is still looking for bell ringers this season.

Give their Fort Frances office at 807-291-0012 if you can lend a couple of hours of your time.
