Where Will N.B. Liberal Leader Run As A Candidate?

By Brad Perry Nov 14, 2022 | 7:32 AM

New Brunswick’s new Liberal leader will announce Monday where she plans to run as a candidate in the expected upcoming byelections.

A news conference with Susan Holt is scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. in the city of Bathurst.

There are three ridings where Holt could potentially put her name forward.

Denis Landry and Daniel Guitard, two Liberals MLAs in the Bathurst area, recently announced their intentions to step down.

Dieppe Liberal MLA also resigned recently to pursue a career in the private sector.

No dates have been set for the byelections. Legislation requires Premier Blaine Higgs to set a date within six months of the seats becoming vacant, although the byelections do not have to take place within that time frame.
