Stratton’s Trevor Bonot and his northern Ontario rink fell short at the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, losing 10-3 to Quebec in the final.
Bonot’s foursome reached the final after edging out Jamie Koe of the Northwest Territories 6-5 in the morning’s semi-finals.
The Fort Frances Lakers dropped both of their home games against the visiting Thunder Bay North Starts, 8-4 on Friday and 9-0 on Saturday.
Ryker Watt, with a pair, Dylan Wedword , and Ian Snooks scored in Friday’s game.
Some lineup changes for the Lakers heading into the weekend.
The Lakers traded the rights to defenceman Brandon Rossetti to Timmins of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.
He initially left the team with forward Dyson Germann to sign with the New York Apple Core of the U.S. Eastern Hockey Junior League.

Meantime, forward Brady Krentz was picked up from the OCN Blizzard of the Manitoba league.
Rainy River’s Cole Tymkin had a goal and an assist in two games for the Brock Badgers as they split games with Lakehead University.

Thunder Bay’s South End Rangers won the championship game
The Canadians lost 10-0 to South End and 5-2 to the Norwest Stars on Friday.
On Saturday, they lost 6-1 to the Northern Selects and 6-0 to Winnipeg’s Fort Garry Twins.
Three members of the International Falls Broncos football team have been named to the All-Northeast District Blue Sub-District Team.
They are Cody Joslyn, Seth Lynch and Cooper Crandall.
Hendrix Torgeson, Braden Skifstad, and Brody Carlson were honourable mentions.
Jerad Kostiuk was named assistant coach of the year.
